Abstract
The article analyzes the activities of the supervisory boards of Joint-Stock Companies and discusses the need to increase the role of women in the activities of independent directors in order to ensure transparency in the supervisory board, the role of women in the formation of the Institute of independent directors, issues of increasing the position of women as independent members in the, the formation of a highly qualified and professionally independent community of female directors and issues of gender equality are covered. Previous research by the board, including research on women and directors, answers the question of whether board members contribute to the board's performance
