Abstract
The theoretical basis, methodology and means of determining the standard of living of the population in the regions are researched in the article. The existing methods of assessing the quality of life have been adapted to the statistical system of our country, improved by the author's approach with special emphasis on social indicators. Empirical and theoretical methodologies such as statistical grouping, normalization of indicators, and comparison were used during the research. When the results were analyzed, significant differences in quality of life were found between regions and especially in rural areas. It is proposed to use the amounts of necessary infrastructure objects determined in the development of regional development programs
