Abstract
The article assesses the role of railway transport in the country's economy, discusses the models and problems of managing transport systems. As a result of the study, the main ways of developing the transport and transit potential of railways, organizing new transport corridors, further strengthening existing transport lines, and improving transport infrastructure are reflected.
The study is focused on the areas of rail transport and urban transport, covering both freight and passenger transport.
Transport infrastructure plays an important role in ensuring the well-being of the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan, since most of the economic activity either depends on vehicles or uses them to transport products. Along with this, rail transport is considered a key component of business efficiency. Railway transport plays an important role in meeting the needs of the population, and is also the main link in the transport system of Uzbekistan.
